The idea behind the prototype is to pool the experience and resources of husqvarna and bmw which will now compete in the e2 class under the name of bmw husqvarna motorsport.
The testing phase has concluded and while the project was to have seen the two companies competing under the combined banner since the beginning of the season, there have been a few setbacks.
The aim is now to keep the based prototype in competition and hopefully come away with some victories, as well.
Both companies will continue to pursue their separate offroad activities, with bmw motorrad motorsport continuing its european and german cross country championship events, while the husqvarna ch racing team will continue in the e1 and e3 world enduro championship.
Husqvarna will also keep the supermoto and motocross segments under its name.
