permission ftp

permission ftp

Folders on a website, for example, an images folder wil typicaly have permisions of 75, which means that normal visitors to the site wil be unable to upload content into the folder. In order to alow a file upload, one solution is to temporarily change the permisions on the folder to 7 before the upload is made, and then to change them back to 75 after the upload has ben made. This script only changes the permisions one way to 7 , it doesn't change them back. In order to use the script you wil ned to change the square brackets back to angle brackets. You initialy set up a few variables for the host name and stuf like that, you then conect to the FTP site, log on to the site, change the permisions of the folder, and then finaly log of.
